Dreaming up and designing a gorgeous surprise dinner party is always fun, but the fact that True Event got to collaborate on this project with Abby Larson (that?s right, the Abby Larson from Style Me Pretty!) for her intimate gathering of family made it oh so special. Abby is such an amazing person and friend and we were honored to help her pull her vision together. She wanted to surprise and celebrate her mother-in-law, Judy, for her birthday and what better way to do so than to surround yourself with family, good food, pretty blooms, and dazzling decor?
Abby wanted to use objects and decor from her home as much as possible and then buy all the extras, making sure to only invest in items that she and her family would use for many years to come. Such a wonderful tip for carrying out a fun dinner party! From the dresser for the bar to the china dinner set, we incorporated loved personal items into the decor. The incredibly talented Julie Song created the stunning paper goods ? the modern watercolor invitation, the fold out menu, the cupcake tags and the gilded favor plates ? dreamy dreamy dreamy! The always inspiring genius, Yumiko from Hana Floral Design, created effortless florals that captured the relaxed and French inspired feel we wanted, tying them all together in gorgeous black urns. Don?t even get me started on how the urns tied in perfectly to the black chevron on the bar! Squeal worthy, folks. But more importantly, the food was to die for. Chef Gary Ankin treated the party to the best fresh local foods, expertly prepared, and perfectly paired with delicious wine. And of course, the only way to follow such a feast is with some Georgetown Cupcakes! We got a little taste of these confectionery delights at our Crush event and they were out of this world!
The entire night came together so wonderfully and looks like it was such a relaxing night with family, filled with love and a little sparkle. Is there anything better?
