This week in celebrity real estate, country star Carrie Underwood unloaded a relatively modest home in Tennessee and teen star Miranda Cosgrove bought a home in L.A.
Carrie Underwood sells Franklin, Tenn. home
It?s a nice custom home measuring 2,956 square feet, but it?s fairly modest for a celebrity who raked in $20 million in 2011.
Which is why, perhaps, Carrie Underwood sold it.
The country music star purchased the Franklin, Tenn.,?home in 2005 for $384,000 on the heels of her ?American Idol? win. She first listed it for sale in 2011 for?$419,900 and after a price cut sold it for?$372,500. According to records, it looks like she only lived there two years; in 2007 she bought another home in the Nashville suburb of Brentwood for $1.353 million.
The stucco-and-stone home was built in 1998. It also includes 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths and a library, which could be an additional fourth bedroom.
Underwood married NHL star Mike Fisher in 2010, and together they purchased 400 acres in Franklin, where they plan to build a custom estate.
Nickelodeon star Miranda Cosgrove buys home
No dorms for Miranda Cosgrove! The Nickelodeon teen star bought a home shortly after she began her first year at the University of Southern California, reported The Los Angeles Times. According to property records, the 19-year-old spent $2.65 million on the traditional home in the Lower Outpost Estates area.
Cosgrove just recently ended her role as the lead character on the successful show ?iCarly,? where she played a teen girl who hosts her own Web show. Cosgrove spent seven seasons on the show and was ranked one of the highest paid teen television actresses.
The hefty paycheck allowed her to buy her own place 20 minutes from USC?s main campus in Los Angeles.
The 3-bedroom, 3-bath home was built in 1952 and has been completely renovated to include a chef?s kitchen with Carrera marble and high-end appliances, as well as fresh exterior paint and shutters. The private home is surrounded by a hedge and front gate to keep ?iCarly? fans and paparazzi at bay.
